Thousands of tests and decisions lead now to the second Addon-Soundset for the glorious 69 GP F1 Mod.

The whole thing started in2003 with my first recording of the DFV at the N?rburgring. I dont know how many files I made since the first release for a 67 DFV in 2004.

When the 69 Mod was ready I concentrate myself on the more powerfull and higher reving engine of the 69 cars.
I wanted to get the real thing, instead of a rendition of a DFV sound that was recorded 10 years later, when Cosworth developed the engine to the most successfull engine of the Formula 1 . The sound of an engine with 400-430 HP is never the same as 480-over 500 HP !

I used a McLaren MP7 recording that I made at the ring to get the
sound that You will find in this new set.

At last the Shell commercial that we found on You tube some weeks ago gave me the inspiration to edit the Ferrari 69 sound complete new. First goal was to create an "insane" sound. No matter what technical quality needs , only the insane cry of this engine was important to me. Maybe You will be shocked, but thats live. And it is showtime now !

I also have very interesting recordings of the BRM V12 of 1968 and the later 1970 mounted in a Yardley BRM.
If You recognize some similarities with my Honda sounds dont be surprized. This is how the BRM V12 should sound IMHO.

The soundfiles where finished on my new system with an
X-Fi Xtreme Gamers fatal1ty pro card and X-530 logitech 5.1 speakers. Numbers of sounds in GPL up to 16 with full acceleration for the soundcard are now no problem anymore for me. I only can recommed to upgrade to a similar constellation to have a real good sound performance in GPL.

With this constallation I was able to tune the sounds to fit together in a race . The whole grid is growling like hell here and thats great fun to have this experience in GPL.

Let me share this with You now. I hope the files will work on every system. I've edited them for that reason in mono 22.005khZ; 16 bit. All other files for skid, wind crowd and so on are also part of this soundset, because You need them in the same samplingrate and volume tuned as I prefer it. ( Skid and wind not so loud as usual !!!)

It is accidential that this release is near to the release of the 69 Mod V3. I want to respect that it is not allowed to post addons for the V3. My sounds have nothing to do with the V3 . If You want to use them for V2 or V3 it is Your free choise.
And as far as the Mod team is'nt concentrated on sounds, I believe it is ok to post them now.

On the other hand it is the right time and occation to say thank You Paul and team for this outstanding work that we can enjoy.
For me the V3 is the best racing simulation that ever was produced.
And if You decide to use my new soundfiles for it, I hope You will enjoy this combination as much as I do.

More in the readme.

(I can only post the files in an attached zip archive, because I'm not ready with the installation of all programs on my new system.)

cheers ,

Wolfgang.

Hallo Wolfgang,

Heute Abend gehts weiter.....sch?ttersch?tterbrummmm
